1st Annual Couples’ League
For the first time, Southside Sportsman Club will be holding its first Couples’ League. This league will be very similar to Dutch Couples Bowling. As in Dutch Couples bowling where the lady rolls the first ball of the frame and the man rolls the second ball of the frame, so we will do the same sort of thing in our couples league.
Each week, the couple will fire a total of 50 rounds, each person firing 25 rounds a piece. Each of the five targets will have a total of 10 shots in it, with each person in the couple firing five shots at each target. The scores will then be tallied and the standard NRA Handicap system applied and the scores will be posted on-line. At the end of the league, we will hand out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Trophies. On the final Sunday following the league, we will have a get together with refreshments and present the trophies.
As an incentive to attend the final Sunday, there will be an opportunity to win three Gift Certificates to Freedom Firearms in the following amounts: $50, $30, and $20. For completing the league shoots by the final week, each couple will receive ten raffle tickets. On the final Sunday, each couple will have the opportunity to shoot five final shots at a B-34 target at 50 feet. For each bullseye, the couple will receive five additional raffle tickets. The drawing will take place at 4:45 p.m. on November 23, 2008.
